DON'T BE AFRAID, OUR residents ONLY BITE A LITTLE...
The story of Slaybrook Manor started when we moved into our home here in Genoa Township only planning to stay a couple years. Fortunately for us, we fell in love with our neighborhood and amazing neighbors and plan to be here until we die and become part of the Halloween decorations.
As parents of a spooky loving toddler daughter, we could never find anything that was appropriate for her that was also actually entertaining for us to go to during the Halloween season. We had always gone all out on Halloween, and over our last few years in Harvest Wind, the response to our holiday spirit was overwhelmingly positive. After Halloween 2023, we were packing it all away, complaining to ourselves that it was a lot of work for just one night. But it wasn't until we went to a Halloween convention the following spring, that we got the dumb idea that maybe we should try to offer something bigger to our neighborhood for more nights than just the 31st and have a safe, fun place for families in our community to go to.
1600+ hours and a few hundred ibuprofen later, we opened Slaybrook Manor in October 2024. We thought if we could provide something fun for a handful of our community it would be a success... We never could have imagined that we would have had such an amazing turnout of so many neighbors, friends and family! Honestly, the real success was getting to spend all those hours outside with each other as a family, doing large scale arts & crafts and spending time getting to know our awesome neighbors and community even more than we had before. We are so proud of our community for supporting this mission of ours to bring some joy and excitement to families again. We really want to focus on bridging connections with local businesses, artists, and raise money for local smaller charities that serve our community here in Genoa Township, Westerville and surrounding areas.
The fact that we are able to give this to our friends and neighbors means the world to us and we will do it as long as we are able to.
Our HANDMADE
props and SETS
We have painstakingly built an impressive collection of spooky props, immersive sets and horrifying characters that make the Manor what it is. Most of the items you’ll find in our haunt are hand made or mostly hand made by us and other small businesses/local artists.
We've loved creating our scenes and props throughout the year and look forward to growing our collection in the years to come!
Our haunt so far is fully self-funded and primarily the work of two very tired toddler parents who love to create fun things and memories for our little one and wonderful neighbors. While some might think we are a "commercial haunted house" we are definitely NOT. The big boys have budgets of $3M, we've spent about 2% of that over the past couple years, which is definitely still a lot in our little world. Funds from donations go to keep the Manor open, safe, and updated. We don't plan on making back even a fraction of what we spend, it's not about that, but we DO need to be sustainable. Above and beyond that, all net proceeds are donated to the season's chosen charity. This year we are so very pleased to be raising money for an animal rescue dear to our hearts, Angels Assisting Felines, a small local rescue serving the community right here in the Columbus area and surrounding areas.

Our attentive haunt family will do everything they can to ensure all tours of the Manor result in a positive experience for everyone involved. Please listen to and respect our volunteers. After all, they’re the only ones who know the way out....
The monsters and volunteer crew you’ll find in Slaybrook Manor are all local residents looking to add a bit of fun to their neighbors’ day. Our actors are directed to scare your party without being annoying or overly intrusive. Everyone is here volunteering their time and talents to give something back to our awesome community. We have volunteers that range in ages from 16 up to 60!
